This is a term used to describe the following regulated investments: long term insurance contracts, units or shares in regulated collective investment schemes or an investment trust savings scheme or a stakeholder pension scheme

Rule 5(1) of the Scope Rules contains restrictions prohibiting an exempt professional firm from recommending or making arrangements for a client to buy a packaged product except in very specific circumstances.
