Most absence from work such as sickness or maternity leave is funded by the state.
Maternity leave is available in differing amounts of time depending on how many children the employee has as follows:

•ÌýÌýÌýÌý none or one child – 16 weeks
- Ìý
•ÌýÌýÌýÌý three or more children – 26 weeks
- Ìý
•ÌýÌýÌýÌý birth of twins – 34 weeks
An employee absent on maternity leave cannot be dismissed. All absences must be notified to the authorities that bear the potential for a benefit claim. This includes sick leave, maternity, adoption, family
