9.1ÌýÌýÌýÌý Employment law in the Netherlands
The Netherlands has a comprehensive set of employment laws, much of it derived from the EU Directives.
Applicable law
First of all, in an international situation (for example, a foreign employee working from home or an international driver), there has to be assessed whether Dutch law applies on the employment agreement. Whether Dutch law applies has to be assessed based on the European Directive Rome I and this has to be determined based on the actual facts and circumstances and with the questions as set out below. The questions as set out below are not exhaustive, but give only an overview. Either way, we recommend that this is checked by an international labour law advisor.
