Where an employer has the same registration number for both employees and occupational pension recipients, an employee who retires on a pension paid by the employer should not be treated as having left the employment. The pension should be included on the payroll record as though it represented continuation of pay, and deduction or refund of tax and USC should continue in the normal way.
