E6.330E Exempt property—low value items

Property of any description that derives from relevant foreign income is exempt property if the notional remitted amount is less than £1,0001. The notional remitted amount is the amount that would be taken to be remitted to the UK if none of the ITA 2007, s 809X exemptions applied2.

This means that the exemptions for property meeting the public access rule at E6.330A, for personal clothing, footwear, jewellery and watches (see E6.330B), for property that meets the repair rules at E6.330C, and for the £1,000 exemption itself, are not taken into account in deciding whether the notional value of property in general is less than £1,000, nor whether a UK day can
